Main Halls of Residence (First Year Accommodation)
Jenny: Here we are at the Halls of Residences. Every first year student is guaranteed accommodation. It’s a great place to live; you’re five minutes away from class, the Union and the Atrium. It’s a great campus to live on.
Student: Well I stay in Alexander Court, it’s on campus and you meet lots of people from different places around the world, many nationalities and it’s nice because you make lots of friends.
Jenny: Every Halls of Residence has a social area like this, where you can meet friends, play pool or table tennis and you also have a TV room. Halls of Residences have kitchens like these, where you have your own compartment in the fridge, access to the sink and cooker and it’s a great place to socialise. Here we are in a typical single study bedroom. It’s everything you need in one place – you have your sink, your desk, your network connection so you can connect to the University network and you also have cleaners coming in once a week helping you clean your room. Every Hall of Residence has a 24/7 concierge service and you also have hall assistants on duty to help you with anything you need.
