SUSA Welfare supports students throughout their time at Stirling. We offer our own, independent welfare and advice service to help address any problems you experience. All of our services are run by fully-trained student volunteers who are just like you. They are also completely confidential, non-judgemental and non-directive. SUSA’s Advice and Support Centre (ASC), located in the Membership Services Office in the Robbins Centre, can help students with enquiries of both an academic and personal nature. ASC is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm. There are a number of volunteers who hold office hours in the centre, including our elected Liberation officers and student representatives. The centre is also open for students to come and browse through our vast array of information leaflets and advice articles. SUSA supports Nightline – a confidential and anonymous listening and information service. Open from 7pm until 7am, students can phone Nightline if they’re feeling homesick, lonely or just a bit down in the dumps. The information side of Nightline can answer any question, from when your exam starts to where to get the best pizza in Stirling! The Welfare section of the Student Association’s website has a wealth of information on practically any subject, including health, housing, money and careers. Vice President (Welfare and Education) co-ordinates the SUSA Welfare service so if you would like more information or want to speak to this sabbatical confidentially, drop into the Membership Services Office in the Robbins Centre, e-mail susa-welfare@stir.ac.uk or telephone 01786 467166. SUSA Welfare is always looking for volunteers to help run our services. If you would like to get involved, contact Chris for details. |
