Having worked as a news and political journalist for 16 years, I changed career in the late 1990s when I became a Communications Manager with the Irish Health Services.
I decided I’d like to do some postgraduate study in Public Relations and Communications. I chose Stirling because of the flexibility that enabled me to study from home in Ireland and continue with my full-time position. The team in the Department of Film, Media & Journalism were very supportive and helpful to me, right from my first contact. They went out of their way to facilitate me to complete my MSc from another country. They were always on hand to provide encouragement and advice, which is invaluable as a mature student. The programme gave me a very good understanding of both the theory and practice of public relations.”
