International Student Advice

A warm welcome from Anne Pitcairn, International Student Adviser

Anne advises and helps International Students and their family in Scotland with them, on personal, welfare and practical matters. The International Student Adviser is authorised by the University to provide Immigration advice and assistance under the terms of the Immigration Services Commissioner’s exemption scheme.

Some of the issues students have brought to the International Student Adviser have included:

  • Childcare and schools
  • Council Tax
  • English language Classes for Spouses
  • Working in the UK - during study and after study
  • Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme
  • Wellbeing
  • Support for Family
  • Support Groups

Immigration issues including: extending stay in the UK, family or relatives visiting Scotland, visiting other countries, enquiries from prospective students

  • Healthcare and NHS entitlement
  • Driving in the UK
  • Local Information
  • Registering with the Police
