| 1. | A student who has been ordinarily resident in Scotland for at least three years immediately prior to undertaking full-time higher education. |
| 2. | A student who is an EU national or the child of an EU national, who has been ordinarily resident in an EU country outside of the UK for three years immediately prior to commencing course. |
| 3. | A student who has been ordinarily resident in England, Wales or Northern Ireland for at least three years immediately prior to undertaking full-time higher education. |

| 5. | The higher rate applies to the following subject areas which are not class-room based Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences, Biological Sciences, Computing Science, Environmental Sciences, Freshwater Science, Nursing and Midwifery and Psychology. |
