Pre-sessional English Course

Who’s it for?

• Students who are skilled in English Language and have already met the English language requirements for entry to their degree programme at Stirling.
• Students who have an unconditional offer from us.
• Students who really want to settle in and acquire insight into linguistic and academic conventions in a UK university setting.

How long does it take?
Five weeks.

What will I achieve?
Through this course, you’ll enhance your existing English language proficiency and study skills. You’ll practise:

• Understanding and taking notes from lectures
• Giving presentations
• Seminar and discussion skills
• Writing academic essays
• Academic referencing
• Compiling bibliographies
